Currently March

I love Farley's new blog design - if you haven't seen it you have to check it out.  Her Currently March looks a lot like her new website so here's a little peek-a-poo to her new blog design.

Listening:  My husband plays candy crush a little too much... I used to, but then I decided that I had better things to do (but really it's because I couldn't get past a level, let's be honest here).  Have you guys seen this video about candy crush addicts? It's hilarious!

Loving:  This is pretty self explanatory and probably my biggest accomplishment this weekend. It's pretty blog worthy.

Thinking:  My grades close next Friday and I can't even express to you the amount of grading I need to do before then.  It's sick.

Wanting:  I really need a new couch. We haven't actually had our current couch for that long, but it's made from a dark microfiber corduroy which makes it look disgusting at all times! No matter how many times I clean or vacuum it, it always looks like a lint/pet hair trap. What is that stain? I have no idea! What is that weird crumby flaky mess? No clue!  Never again.
This is the one that I want... so purty... I am not sure about the color yet, but it will take us like 10 years to save up for the couch so we have some time to make that very important decision.

Needing:  I keep thinking that I should only blog when I have done a groundbreaking DIY or when I have taught something mindblowingly (word?) spectacular to my students. Because of those ridiculously high expectations, I end up blogging only half of the time that I should be doing. Let's face it, not every day of teaching is so special that you can blog about. Not every day is occupied with DIY wondrousness.  I need to blog about things that make me happy because in the end, our blogs are for us.

???????????:  These are the three chores that I hate to do most around the house. Mostly I was thinking about them because I know I have to do them this weekend.  The dread has commenced!

  1. Heather - we got a new couch last year and as much as I love it - it quickly became a pet hair trap! I tried to make the "no dog on the new couch rule". But, after a few months hubby and the kids were like it's not new anymore. UGH....

    1. Haha! Yeah, it seems like a fight that none of us are going to win. Sometimes I feel like our dogs allow us sit on the couch instead of the other way around how it should be, haha! Thanks for leaving me a comment! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I've tried to promise myself to be consistent with my blogging too...but, at the end of the day I decided if it feels like a chore, I'm not doing it. Blogs are meant to be fun, not extra homework. Best of luck with yours!

    1. I know Erin, you are right. I can't even tell you how many times I have made that promise to myself. It will probably last approximately a week. ;)

  4. Heather,
Is your ??? the answer to things you hate doing around home? I was wondering if you could please check out my new teacher exchange website LIFTPackages.blogspot.com. It is a teacher exchange program in which you meet teachers and send care packages to each other. Please feel free to check out the website, sign up and pass our name along to friends!

    Thanks

  5. Love that couch!!! What store is it from? We have been in desperate need of a couch too, but resorted to buying a couch cover instead. Now that darn thing is getting a bit ragged. Why do couches have to be so pricey?!? I hope you were able to get some lesson planning done :)

    1. It's from Thrive Furniture. I just love the stuff at that store, but it is expensive so who knows if we will actually buy it, haha! I can dream... But if we do buy it, no one will be allowed to sit on it, haha! Have a good week!

  6. write when you feel like it... you are your own boss...
write from your heart... I feel like when I am truly excited about what I have to blog about... I get the most traffic and response from it...
and about that couch... we got a nice couch not too long ago and it is already a pet hair trap... and it is all balled up like a LOVED sweater... and well it looks like it is 50 years old... and I don;t LOVE it
my favorite couch was my old couch... it was made out of denim... good denim and it just got better with age... and then Bubs came and 3 dogs later. it had to be replaced...and we got this piece of crapola
so next time I am going to get another nice denim couch :)
oh and by the way... thanks for linking up

    1. Hey Farley! I never thought of a denim couch, so smart because denim is such a sturdy fabric. I'll have to keep that in mind! Thanks for stopping by. :) P.S. I love your new blog design!

  7. I loved your CURRENTLY! I think you should blog whenever it is right for you. To be honest, I like reading blogs about everyday life. It makes me feel like we are all on this ride together. I noticed you are an Arizona blogger! I went to UofA and lived in Tucson for a few years. :)
